I have a folder shared on a remote computer that has a diffrent username and password from my vista login. When I try to connect to this folder from vista, my login is refused. When I connect to the same share from Windows XP, I am able to login and access the share.
Can someone help me find out what is wrong?
Thanx, Brian

Hello,
Please try the following steps. This will change the way Windows Vista authenticates with other computers to the same setting that Windows XP uses.
- Click Start - Click Control Panel - Click System and Maintenance - Click Administrative Tools - Double-click Local Security Policy - Click the triangle next to Local Policies in the left pane - Click Security Options in the left pane - Double-click "Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level" in the right pane - Click the dropdown list and select "Send LM & NTLM responses" - Click OK
